Synopsis
A small village in the scorching, windy Somali desert. Mamargade, a single father, works multiple odd jobs to give his son Cigaal a better life. His sister Araweelo, who has just gotten divorced, comes back to live with them.
Despite the changing winds of a country ravaged by civil war and natural disasters, love, trust, and resilience will enable them to take control of their destiny.

Mo Harawe
Mo Harawe is a screenwriter and director of Somali and Austrian descent. After studying visual communication and film, he directed several acclaimed short films: Life on the Horn (2022) and Will My Parents Come to See Me? (2022), which won the Grand Prix at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. The Village at the Gates of Paradise is his first feature film.
