Agnes Lisa Wegner
Agnes Lisa Wegner studied American Studies and Film Studies in Berlin, as well as African American Studies at Harvard University. After earning her master’s degree from the Freie Universität Berlin, she worked for several years with German human rights organizations (Pro Asyl e.V., Forum Menschenrechte e.V.).
In 2013, she began working as an independent writer and director. Since then, she has written and directed numerous films presented at international festivals, on German public television, and on Netflix Europe. Her award-winning documentaries — including King Bansah and His Daughter, No Fucking Ice Cream, and The Girl with the Long Hair — are characterized by her strong commitment to themes such as discrimination, racism, human rights, and solidarity.
Cece Mlay
Cece Mlay values the collaborative nature of filmmaking. She currently works at Kijiweni Productions as an assistant director and creative supervisor. She has developed her career across different departments, collaborating with artists from diverse disciplines and backgrounds on projects produced by Tanzanian and international filmmakers.
