Franco Clerc

Franco Clerc is a screenwriter, director, and producer. He gently challenges the traditions of Malagasy cinema while highlighting the talents of a new generation.

His career in the audiovisual field led him to collaborate on numerous projects, mainly in executive production for television and cinema. During this time, he wrote, directed, and produced several short films, including À chacun son combat, which received the Audience Award at the Rencontres du Film Court de Madagascar in 2019.

In 2021, after years of hands-on experience in the field, Franco Clerc decided to dedicate himself fully to cinema. He completed a formative stay at the Institut de l’Image et du Son de Montréal and later trained in independent film production at the Sundance Institute.
