The FIFOI celebrates the cinematic richness of the Indian Ocean basin and highlights emerging talents from the region through several awards.
The films in competition are in the running for five awards, which will be presented during the Closing Ceremony on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 18:30 PM at the Stella Matutina Museum in Saint-Leu.

From January 2019 to spring 2023, Catherine Alvaresse served as the Director of Documentaries at the France Télévisions group. She joined the public group in 2016 as the Director of the Documentary Unit at France 2, after having been the Deputy Director of the Discoveries and Knowledge Unit at Arte France. Her career began in 1993 at the CSA (formerly ARCOM), after which she transitioned to production.
Audiovisual associate in India, Mathieu Béjot led Sunny Side of the Doc (the international documentary market). His company, Connoisseur Media, advised BEAJ (the association of Japanese broadcasters). He headed TV France International (2000-2018) after holding positions in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Ottawa.

Emmanuel Migeot started his career in education and research before participating in the creation of Kilaohm Prod and producing around forty films. In 2015, he joined F3 as an assistant and later became the Director of the Documentary Unit.
Yolanda Ncokotwana is a presenter, storytelling consultant, entrepreneur, executive producer, funding specialist, and policy designer. She currently holds the position of Head of Industry Development at the NFVF (National Film and Video Foundation), overseeing training and skills development, production and development, co-productions, and funding.

Lolita Tergemina is the artistic director of the National Dramatic Centre of the Indian Ocean. The first Réunionese graduate from the National School of Arts and Techniques of Theatre (Ensatt), Lolita Tergemina is an actress, director, translator in Réunion Creole, and trainer.
A former journalist and communications specialist, Isabelle Fargier has always been passionate about well-told stories and impactful imagery. Enthusiastic about visual storytelling, she skillfully brings unique narratives to life. As an intuitive producer, she captures the essence of places and voices, shining a light on them with a sensitivity that resonates far beyond the Indian Ocean.
Eco-advisor by training, Isabeau has been working in the preservation and management of terrestrial and marine protected areas for over 20 years, in Réunion (Department, Region, and National Park of Réunion) and New Caledonia.
Before joining the FIFO team in 2021, Laura Théron was involved in various cultural and audiovisual projects. Since 2023, as the General Delegate, she amplifies the voices and stories of the region, offering a unique platform to the talents of today and tomorrow.
